New Readers' Ride Page!

You guys asked for it - and now here it is! Check out the new (beta) member's ride page, where you can add you own pictures (and list of modifications in the picture caption) as well as comment on other people's pictures. :D It is in testing form right now but pretty much finalized. Feedback is appreciated! Ideas on new albums and other additions are welcome as well. :)

Just a cautionary note - IP tracking is enabled and all obscene or off topic pictures will be deleted and the poster will be banned from EXriders.com.

Glad you like it :) You can list your mods in the "caption" area where you upload your picture. The nice thing is that a user can search the gallery for keywords. For example, if you posted a picture of your quad with a Yoshimura exhaust, and it was listed in the caption, when someone searches for "Yoshimura" your picture would be one of the ones to show up.

So eventhough it is part of exriders.com, we have to create a new registration to use it????

From the quick look that I took at the page, I would suggest only a few things.

1) It would be much better if our existing exriders username and password would work.

2) Also it would be better if the pics showed who the user that posted it was, so we knew whos pic we are looking at.


But it is a good start, and can only make the site better.

Thanks Instinctz, you always offer such valuable insights to this site. :rolleyes: If you are going to donate the money for me to hire a PHP programmer then great - I can send you my address. It isn't like I have an extra $1000+ laying around to pay someone to develop this site - I do it out of my own pocket, during my own spare time. It is a shame that you feel you must bash things that you have had zero input in, unlike the countless valuable EXriders who asked for this feature and are now very happy with the photo gallery I have built - even though it is a work in progress. Otherwise, run back to school, I think I hear your teacher calling you :o

Wow Ben, you took that kind of personal. I don't think he meant that you should hire a developer. I think he was saying you should look for a volunteer that can do php dev. for you. After Christmas I am going to be upgrading to FreeBSD 5.0, and may get back into web development. Unfortunately my dev. is in Perl. If you have no one volunteer to help with php, I am willing to switch from Perl, and learn php for a while and help out where I can. Just let me know if you want any help.

If I need any help with your expertise I will give you a shout :) In response to your point on me taking Instinctz's response would be right on if he was not nitpicking several updates to this site. You know some people just like to complain! :D

Instinctz, do you have anything positive to add or are you on a mission to point out every negative aspect of EXRiders internet interfacing? First you make a fuss about the store not being secure (despite the fact that when you check out and exchange financial information it is secured) and now you come to this thread and want to make comments about the new photo gallery. Ben is trying to make this a better place for everyone, it's just sad you've got to down everything he does.

If you have your own folder you can delete the pictures in it but in the public areas you have to send me an email (webmaster@exriders.com) and I'll delete it for you :)

Can you help me out with this........I've gone to "Rides" and then I'm lost. I've tried hitting "login" and it does not like my user name and password. I heard I have to register for that section, but I can not find where to do it.......

Don't think he's gotten to that yet, what with all the changes round here. Give it time, I'm sure he'll make a post to let everyone know when they can add new photos.
