Picked up a new rifle today. Its a Remington M700 SPS in .223. I paired her up with Leupold 3x9x40 scope. Deffently looks like it will make a nice target rifle. Anyone got one of these? How well do they group?

I'd take pictures but I have no camera.:p Took her out shooting today, boy she does shoot well. I was grouping four to five arounds in 3/4 inch circles at 100 yards. Gotta take her to 200+ range.:p

I picked up a savage .17hmr and a Bsa 6x18-40 mm sweet 17 scope. Haven't got to shoot it yet. Been to windy when its been warm.
Should be good for the closer ground hogs. Its a lot cheaper to shoot than the .243

Rems are usually solid 3/4 moa bolt guns out of the box. What twist rate is your barrel?

Link (http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire_rifles/model_700/model_700_SPS.asp) to the 700 SPS.
Looks like it's a 1-12 in .223. That limits the bullet weights you can use unless this page has the twist rate wrong. Still, with most commonly encountered .223 ammo, I bet it's a tack driver.

Yessir 1-12. She was shooting I believe 52 or 54 grain bullets and making real nice groups considering the gun is brand spanken new. It just would not stabilize any higher grain weight.

I went to Cabelas. 800 for the rifle, bases, rings and scopes. The rifle was on sale for %499.
Not to shabby.
