I have a 250x stock. What is a good set of shocks to upgrade too? I want to start jumoing a little bit higher but dont want to risk it. Can i put stock shocks off a 400ex on here? Or can i just adjust the ones i have right now. Thanks

If your just going out to mess around and dont plan on doing any serious racing. A set of works would suit u just fine. I don tthink the EX shockw would work

i like my dual rate elkas. they look and preform way better than works, but if all you do trail ride and ot a way to serious racer, then you will love the works. 400ex shocks will not work w/o moving the shockmounts an 400ex a-arms. here is a pic of elkas on my 300. if you dont race then you will love the dual rate w/o rezzies. the quadshop sells both brands and if the elkas arent way to much more than the works they would def.be worth buying.

Pretty much any local bike shop will be able to get works. Check around for the best prices.

it all depends on your weight and what your jumping say u jump onto flat land u will only go about 4 ft high on a downslope higher

The 250X really isn't good for major air. If you look closely, the shocks are a lot shorter than the 400EX or 250r. Smaller shocks equals less travel. Even if you upgrade your shocks, your still only looking at 5-6 inches of travel, which I wouldn't trust to handle anything over 8ft or so. On stock shocks, I'd say 4ft max. I know this because I own two of them.

I have a question also. I am wondering if the rezzies would be good or not for me. I know they make it not fade as quick. I usually do trail riding and some jumping also. would it be necesarry or not?

That's major air for stock shocks. I wiegh 210, and I couldn't get near that high before I bottomed out. I decided to upgrade to a 250r, rather than just upgrade the shocks.
