Reed Conversion???

Can anyone tell me if 1979/1980 RM 125 or other reeds will fit the "titanium" reed cage for the cvt mini's???

I heard some old model 125 reeds will fit...

Just looking for another possibly more durible reed option.

What's not durable about the reeds that come with that cage? metal?

no, they come with fiberglass reeds, that have prooved very durible.

What I'm looking for is a thicker, more durible carbon fiber reed.

The ones I've tried are only good for 2-3 races, then they start to split on the edges and will eventually crack.

I like the throttle response of carbon fiber, but not the maintenance.

How thick is the reed you are using?

The last ones I used are .010" thick.

I think I have .016 and .021

I've never had a problem. Been making them for years now.
