Hey Everyone,

A few days ago my uncle gave me this three wheeler. He said it is a 1983 Honda ATC 80. I don't deal with them so I don't know a lot about them. Does anybody know if this is worth something or should it just be better off a garage ornament?

Thanks a lot and Happy New Year!

i thought honda only made 70cc's and 90cc's?

either way.. i think it would be a cool restoration project.

by looking at it, i would say its a 70cc. i had a 1980 atc 70 that looked identical. You might be surprised what its worth to the right buyer. I used to buy up 3 wheelers for $500 - $700 about 10 yrs ago, now those same 3 wheelers are about $1500 +

The front fender is on backwards. It's an ATC70. 1983 model. Judging from the rub mark on what SHOULD be the backside of the fender, the frame is probably bent. When they bend, the fender rubs on the cylinder head studs. You want to sell it?

I believe those blue ones are pretty rare

I've read that the blue ones were given away by honda for christmas one year. Those 3 wheelers will still bring good money to the right buyer.

Ya, that is a 1983 special addition, ATC 70. Honda gave those away one year, and they also had blue 110's. In any sense, it is somewhat rare.

The frame is probably tweaked, like mentioned above. But that is an easy fix with a porta power kit. Just remove the tank, and you'll see where the frame is bent. Just put a porta power in there, and straighten it back out.

If that bike runs, and none of the plastics are busted up real bad, that bike is probably worth $300-$500 as it sits. A new seat cover and some clean up work, it could be worth as much as $700-$800.

They are fun little machines. We use ours as pit bikes at the races. Also, there is a bunch of people who race these little things just like pit bike races.

Honda made ATC 70's, 90's 110's and 125's
Nothing in-between those. ATC 90's are also pretty rare. Use see a lot of 70's and 110's, but not many 90's

Here is a pic of a 1978 ATC 90. You can see they quite a bit larger than a 70. Thats a nice machine. If I were you, and you don't need the money, I would keep it.

didn't the original atc90's float on water, with up to a 150lb person?
I seem to remember seeing a ad where a guy was riding it across a lake.

You're correct, they are rare. The blue 70 was a give away item, supposedly never sold, unlike the 110 which was available for sale. From my research, each dealer got one blue 1983 ATC70 for the Christmas giveaway. If you look at Honda's model ID book, they don't even acknowledge the existence of a blue ATC70, the 110 is in there though. As far as restoring it, finding parts, such as fenders, tank, and decals is impossible. Like the ID book, any microfiche or online look-up doesn't actually list blue. Red parts are clearly listed, and specified as "red", but there are part numbers with no color designation that have the suffix 303 in the part number, which should be blue.

I've owned many ATC70's and swore I would never buy another one unless it was blue. I was having a hard time with resale and making any money on them, but I found my blue one about two years ago at a swap meet. This one's not in the best condition, but it's a keeper.

Probably at the time you had them, and were selling them, they weren't binging much money. But within the last 2 years, they have become the new trend. Everybodys looking for 70's, and they are willing to pay decent money to get them.

I would love to have that. I learned to ride on one of those, and want one for my kids to play on....it is a classic example of what this sport is about, family riding.

If you were closer I would be making you some offers, believe me that thing would sell QUICK! (keep it).

I have only seen red ones in person, I think the other post about Honda making them for one seasonal promotion is correct.

Man you that for free, I`m Jealous.....:D
