do the factory wheels have a coating on them? id like to polish them. but dont want to if im gonna have to sand my arm off to get through the coating.

yes they have a coating on them. not the best looking wheels but they are alot tougher than ITP or douglas .190 wheels.

yes they have a clear coat on them. you can get it off with "aircraft paint stripper" sold at auto part stores. we used to do it on car rims when the clear would start to yellow, afterwards they looked great. its just an old hotrod trick. yours would polish out great cause honda uses a very high quality aluminum.

ohh also i never stripped any atv rims so test a small spot on the back because i have run into bike rims that were annodized clear protected. to get that off you need to mix a tablespoon of lye (crystal draino) per two gallons of warm water. let it sit for 5-10 minutes and then scrub with a scotch brite or steel wool. rinse well.

sweet. thanks everyone. now i jus gotta go take the wheels off in the cold. will post pics when i get one done.
