best at what? u cant just say 1 of them is the "best" cuz every quad has its strengths and weaknesses. and why do u care bout top speed? that can all be changed with gearing anyway. most of the time their top speed is to fast anyway. u really have to pick ur spots if u want to open it up or it can get real sketchy. how and where are u going to ride? and what r u moving up from?

both are good bikes.. I like the feel of a honda way better than the YFZ.. I would go sit on both of them and see what you like best..

If you are talking about the YFZ450R,in stock form,it is in another league than the Honda 450.Way better!!!

I had a honda 450 I raced for years. I can garuntee you this, the yfz will be WAY more reliable. If you do the cam mod, exhuast, pull the lid, and get a CDI box that thing will RUN.

riding a 450 in a wide open field is so much of a waste.

this is a place for the open forum. why? because everyone in the yamaha section is going to bash honda and prise yamaha because they have never riden a honda. i love my honda i wouldent trade it for a pos very unreliable yamaha.

HAHA. The honda will NEVER be as reliable as the yfz. I had one for three years I MX raced. I was always having problems with it.... from experiences with YFZ's they are BULLETPROOF.

I rode my buddies 450r set up for XC. Then rode my yfz set up for XC. In comparison I thought the yfz had more of a hit in the power department. The thing I liked about honda was that it was smooth. The only thing is that I wouldn't trade it for the yfz because I just love the feel of instant power. I just didn't feel that on the 450r. This was an 05 450r by the way with an HRC kit. In a flat out drag race the quads were dead even until 5th gear when the yfz just ran away from the 450r. Now I would say the riders were about even but the kid with the 450r races pro class so I would say hes better rider. So its up to you if you want smooth power or an insane hit of power in the mid-top end. My mods are in the sig. My yfz engine is stock except for a yoshi pipe. Im even running stock filter. Neither of the mentioned quads have had no problems what so ever and have mechanically sound for over 3 years. So its basically up to the fact of if you want a yami or a honda. I would also say top end speed is about equal but he was geared down a tooth in the front but with 21' GNCC tires. So if you can maintain a quad then go ahead and get a 450. If you wanna race get a 450. If your not going to race then just stay away all together. Yes there fun and light but if I was just dickin around I would way rather have a raptor, z400, or 400ex. That way I could just fill it with gas and ride. Its up to you.

im with yfzrider310. if ur not racing get a raptor or sumthin. a 450 isnt as happy doing what u want to do with it as a raptor or 400ex z400 and others.
