Title

I bought a 01 400ex off a guy for real cheap but he couldn't find the title. At first I thought it might be stolen so i had a friend run the vin and it didn't come back stolen at the time. So my question is how can i get a title for it? Can i just go to the dmv and fill out a lost title form or is there another way to do it?

Your best bet is to go down to your local DMV and inquire about it.
It shouldn't cost much to get a "Duplicate Title". About 3 months ago, I bought a YZ250F off a guy that didn't have the title, and all I had to do is go to my local DMV and pay for the title/transfer fee into my name. The tags were still good.

Oh...Don't forget to bring the "Bill of Sale" with you.
That is the only proof you have of the sale.
