To be honest, I did not think it would either. However I have done a ton of them with no reports of failures. I think it really depends on the type of riding one does as to how well it holds up. I dont recommend it to guys who ride alot of trails or fields, but for MX,TT Drag and dunes it has proven to do ok.

I ride a lot of dunes and some MX.......I might have to try that. A black axle would be cool.

What would you charge to coat one, Pappy?

stock axles are $40

alot of guys want to make their aftermarket look better once the chrome has started to peel and they can be tough to do correctly. i recommend folks to check with the manufacture (lsr , rpm etc) and see if they can get them re-chromed.

Yeah, mine is a Laegers but it wasn't chrome. There is one little spot where it is starting to peel.
