yamaha carb on a 400ex?

i have a 2002 yzf426 sitting in the garage...would the carb from that work on my 400ex? its free so i figured i would give it a try if it would help. if not i will just re-jet my stocker

I put a yzf450 carb on my 400ex recently. I don't know what the yz426 carb is but the yzf450 was a FCR 39mm I think. All I had to do was shim up the gas tank a little to give clearence between the gas tank and the carb. Then I had to fab up my own extension from the airbox to the carb intake since the yfz450 carb was thinner.
