I've never heard of the Fox rears blowing, is that mainly a MX problem?

Also I've been told that the best setup would be Fox fronts and PEP rear for MX.

actually every case of the blown out rear fox i have ever heard of did come from mx. However, im sure a hard blow from xc/and other types of riding could do it.

Why wouldnt you want to run a PEP rear shock to match PEP front shocks? PEP PB1's beat any shock hands down. There's a few things about them FOX shocks that hasnt made me a believer yet.

I didn't say not to run a PEP rear to match the fronts, I said I was told that a PEP rear with Fox fronts would be the best. That was from a Pro in 07, but I don't follow MX and hardly anyone uses PEP in GNCC so...

Also like with every setup, the brand of products used are not as important as how they are setup...

A PEP rear shock with fox fronts sounds like an awesome set up to me. I currently run Fox shocks all around with Walsh components. I love my evols but I hate my podium. I have my fair share of time on a 450r with PEPs (not PB1's) and I would say I like the front shocks equal, but the pep rear blows the podium out of the water.

i like my podium's on all 3 of my bikes, it takes some time to get them set up but once there set up there sweet
I do believe the PEP pb1's are they best shock by far but there ou of my price range for shocks, i can get fronts and a rear from fox for less than a set of fronts from pep

I have Fox on the front and I will have a PEP in the rear this weekend, I'll let you guys know what I think. Im coming from a stock rear but ive ridden other peoples PEPs. The main complaint about the Fox fronts is they make your quad want to roll in corners and the PEPs are supposed to not have that problem. But my fronts feel fine and I couldnt tell a big difference when riding PEPs even though they werent setup for me. Ive never ridden a Podium before but im sure they are good just probably not as good as the PEP.

why do shocks blow out? i know if you land hard or hit something hard it will blow out but for the podiums to be in particular known for that is it weak seals or just the way it was designed?
