Well me and my friends were discussing something before and all the sudden it turned out to be a riot about sprocket sizes and how a smaller or bigger one will give better lowend/excell and how a bigger or smaller sprocket in the back will give more topend/speed. I always thought that a larger rear sprocket will will give more top speed, And a smaller rear sprocket will give you more excell. I just got to clear this up and see what is right. I thought a riot was gonna break out over this.

Front- Bigger/Smaller-More Speed/Less Speed

Rear-Bigger/Smaller-Less Speed/More Speed

Less Speed=More Torque

More Speed=Less Torque

If you think really hard, its easy to figure out if you dont know, but it gets tough when ur in the middle of a heated arguement, trust me, been there before.

yea, bigger sprocket pulls more chain at a time = better top end but worse low end, and it all is easy from there

i have had people swear by a smaller on front and bigger on rear will give you more speed. it might be why i pass their slow ***** all the time on the straights!!!!!

When you are talking about speed, you have to tell which type of speed. A smaller front will give you more or faster speed on the bottom but no top end. A larger fron will give you higher speed on the top but less low end. You have more speed with both, but do you want it on the top or bottom?
