I have two quads and no trailer and need to transport them in one trip. I have seen it done before but I was just wondering if anything in the 450r or 400ex can be hurt after I have them secured down REALLY tight and the gas turned off. Would oil be able to leak back?
Thanks for the help

we had a 250ex 400ex and a rapturd. we took them from florida to california. they were upright for three days. dropped them down normal when we got there and let them sit for about ten fifteen minutes and then it fired right up.

ok first thing is take your filters off!!!!! goto home depot and buy pvc rubber caps for hole . the gas comes from carb and eats the oil in your filter and then your bike eats dirt:eek:
JUST REMEMBER TOO PUT THE FILTERS BACK ON!!!!!!!1:eek2:

you might get a little oil out of the tube that drains in box if you have too much oil in your bike .

let bikes sit for a bit when you get there and its always better to travel with a less filled tank:macho

drain the card you dont have to worry about the filters getting eating

make sure the tank isnt full because if its pretty filled it will leak out the breather tube. Turn the gas to off and run it until it shuts off pump it a few times and turn it over and it will die again then your good

liek everyone else said, just drain the carb. I would defintelyy just empty my tank out if i were doing this. It would just make me feel safer knowning that there isnt going to be any gas laying in my truck bed from it spilling out of the overflow tube

I've done it multiple times in the back of a truck, perfectly safe I think. i stood one up slid the other one in behind and left the tailgate down. works really well!
