It is a little heavier than the snow hog but it is a larger tire too.Alot of the Hondas are running these for mx.

We put them on put them on our 90 mod and really noticed a difference. We had to play with tire pressures a little but they work good.

ITP makes a similar tire. Both are good mx tires, but the ITP's have a larger side tread and seem to hook up better in the turns.

Are you refering to the new 18x8x8 ?

I havent seen a set myself. Do you know what they weigh ?

The big bike ones are just too heavy for a miniquad.

Not to intrude but we tried 18x11x8 and they are power robbers. We seen a big differnce with the 18x6.5x8 maxxis is a light tire lighter than you would ever expect they are an awsome MX tire as I seen them this wekend and picked one up and was impressed as I believe they weigh lighter than the snow hogs just my IMO. :D

I am interested in this maxxis tire.

Does anyone have a Snowhog, and the maxxis 940, or razer cross tires in a 18x6.5x8 rear?

Can you weigh them all on the same scale so we know the actual weight difference?

Thanks!

Dan

The Maxxis M940 is a VERY light tire for its size. I had weighed them a few years back, but i forget what it was. We have been running them on my boys quads since 05. I stumbled on to them really. I saw them on the back of an Eton at my local dealer. It just so happened he had as set in stock so I bought them. I put them on Robbies Honda for the next race and we have run nothing else ever since.

But would you recommend it for outdoor MX racing on a 2-stroke cvt quad?

Yes, The 18x8x8

I don't know the weight, I had Big Daddy take the Maxxis' off and put the ITP's on at the track. The only change after the swap was better traction.

We ran them on our Cobra 80/90 but they are too heavy and too much grip for the Cobra 70. Your 90's and 125's should have no problem, but I wouldn' recommend the ITP's on a CVT unless the track was very loose or muddy, the Maxxis may be better overall for a CVT.

These are the tires we run on our 107 cc Honda. They were the best tires for the Honda. We run XC only not MX. They worked the best for XC and muddy conditions. The snowhogs just didn't hook up enough. Yes they do rob some HP, But they make up for it in traction and not getting stuck when every1 was stuck with the smaller tires.

One might consider the Maxxis Cross's. They look alot like the Snowhogs but have X's on the side walls. They are a very good tire. Were gonna get an extra set mounted up for the Apex. There very light and don't steal HP. Just a thought.

The 940's are good all around tires for Mx they are as lite or lighter then other tires and hookup great out of the corners. For rough tracks they do bounce alot more, this may be a problem for the little guys.
The new ITP tire weighs a little more, hooksup good and does not bounce as bad on the rough tracks it is a great tire for the 70's & 90's I would stick with the holeshot tires for the 50's just because of the weight.

Thank you. Been trying to convince ppl of that. A terrible tire IMO. :)

Anyone know where you can get "NANKANG" tires? Those were the best but I've not seen them in years. I have "1" new one. LOL

Has anyone seen the new Kenda kutter mx tires? They come in K580F Front 20x6.00-10 9.32 .lbs K581 Rear 18x10.00-8 9.84 .lbs

These tires might be a good choice if you want a wider rear tire.

Sondre was finaly to have a few test runs with the Maxxis tires today and it looks like these tires will work wery well for him.he was able to slide around the turns and still have good hookup on the straits.
