Does anybody have any info on the Rotax 250cc 2-stroke engine like they use in Kart racing? I have the opportunity to buy a running one fairly cheap and was thinking it might look good in the Cannondale frame I have laying around considering its counterbalanced and right-side drive. I'm mostly wondering about performance mods.
Thanks guys

not sure of the cart engines but Rotax engines have always been reliable and fast:)

Yeah I had a DS650 with the 653cc Rotax motor and it was a runner.
From what I can gather they used to sell a quad called a Rebel Star that used the 250cc Rotax like I'm looking at and apparently ATK used them in some dirtbikes back in the early 90's, but other than that I can't find much other info on them.

yeah, the only thing about the ATK ones is the kick start's ON THE LEFT SIDE. so get used to pumpin with the left :P but yeah the 80's ATK's had right hand drive with shifting on the normal side. ebay would be a good place to start for parts for the engine or for atk ones... some KTM's are right hand drive too
