I went out riding today in a field that is rectangular. about 200ft straight and 50 ft cornering areas. I would come up to a turn 5th pinned and jam on the brakes 20ft before the turn. i would then get my ***** off the seat to the inside, throw out my outside leg to get evn farther over to the inside, pin it in 4th, slide, and be on my merry way.
this ride, i went out with the idea that i was going to go just a little faster, and i did. I go around a few times fine, and then come into a corner w/ as much confidence as usual, and start to bicycle. usually when this happens, i gas it, and everything is okay, but this time, i get flung off. okay. i go around the other way and the same thing happens again a few laps later.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?! Have i pushed the 300ex to the limit, and need to get a new quad? I was planning on getting a dale by summer, but if nothing is wrong w/ my riding, i dont want to put myself at risk. HELP!

are they 6 ply? 22's can roll in the corners. I say hang your butt off the seat more. If you know someone with 20" tires on a honda sport quad, try them out and see if it still does it.

ill give it a shot, yea they are six plys, but it may give me an excuse to get the dale earlier. Thanks for the help everyone, but more is still appreciated (sp?).

maybe actaully take ur butt off the seat and lean with all ur weight on the inside and ur outside leg if u can hitting ur nerf or peg and kick the rear end out with ur heel, that'll make the back end slide aroudn with all ur weight on ur handlebars and ur inside so u can powerslide right aruond, well thats how we do it in races
p.s dont forget to invite me ill have a cdale in about a month haha

thats what i do. i sit on the fender. I guess a dale is in my future.

This ride sounds like fun if we can get it together. i am getting surgury the day after christmas and will not be able to ride till Feb 1, but after that i am good to go. I want to ge to Hatfield-McCoy w/ Rico, wydnzer, and crew w/ Tainted Glory from C-Dale riders. I also plan on racing in Thunder in the Sand in Wildwood May 30 and June 1.

O/k, your hung out on the fender, got your weight inside and the quads 2 wheeling. If your riding in grass, the tires are catching and rolling you. Its happened to me. I can do a good power slide on dirt/ gravel, but i have to be real careful with grass and stuff. Been thrown before like that.

Could be a number of factors. You may have run over a patch of dirt/grass that provided more traction(tight packed dirt). Which probably provided enough traction to cause your outside tire to hook up, causing you to bicycle. I've had the samething happen to me during a powerslide. I hit a tree and bent my axle. I now have a wider axle and run more air pressure in my tires to avoid doing the samething again...

is this just flat ground, why does it matter, its physics, it happens, or air your tires up more and then they will just spin instead of hookin up.
