Hi, new to the 400ex. can any one tell me how to install a pep steering damper on an ex that has an oversized oil tank. I think i have a way but not sure how it would look. any pics would be grateful. Thank you

There are many ways but the most popular is to clamp it either one of the two bars on your frame that come DOWN to your bumper.

Hope I helped!

If you need any more info, ask!

No not confused. i have a pep sticktype that should mount to the lower motor mount through the slot. with a larger oil tank there are clearance issues. at least with the oversized tank i have.

i can take pics after x mas. it is a standard pep style stick dampner. it has a stand-off bracket that mounts to the left side lower motor mount. then the other side clamps to the stem approx 10 to 11 inches up from the base. oh it's also the one way style.

My friend also had this trouble. He had to trim down his dipstick for it to work. I would have just got a 7 click stick style instead of the pep IMO.
