ive been wondering can you put an oil temp guage on the 400ex, like an inline one not a digital guage they cost too much for me and if so where can i find one?

Why not install an oil temperature dip stick like the ones XR's Only makes. I've ran one on my 416ex now for two years.

They cost $40.00 and come in your choice of silver or red.

thats pretty neat i've never seen that before im definitely getting one on them, thanks! and around what temp is normal?

I'm curious too, what would be an average temp when the engine is good and warm?

175 to 225 is normal for my riding style. I've seen it run hotter on warm days. Anything over 300 is bad.
