450R axle swap

Ok guys, I searched and did not find a difinitive answer to my question:

Can you use a 450r axle in a 250r style bearing carrier? I have the 450r brake setup in the rear. I want a JJ&A drag axle, I guess I can order a "250r" axle with a 450r brake hub instead of the standard hub. I'd rather just get a 450r axle, but I guess they are pretty close to the same thing.

It won't work. The carrier on a 450R is narrower, which means the bearing surface on the axle is also. You wouldn't be able to get the snap ring on the axle, not to mention you'd have less axle sticking out the right side than the left.
