I just got my ross piston and my hotcam in. On the bottom of the piston, it says 88M. Does that mean 88mm because I wanted an 87. What is the 88, a 426?? Should I send it back? Thanks, Ant.

I just looked at rosspistons.com and the 3.425 bore is what they have listed for the 87mm so I guess its right. I just dont know what the 88M is for on the bottom of the piston. Thanks, Ant.

Your spec sheet says the bore size is 3.425 inches, which translates into 86.995 mm. You have the right size piston it seems to me.

I ordered the ross 416 and the bore size on the spec sheet is 4.25 but it does say 88m on the inside of the piston....if i remember correctly, it was miced at 4.2334...

Instead of forging several pistons, they use an 88 for 86,87,and 88mm bores. they just machine them for each application.
