I'm planning on upgrading the carb on my '86 TRX 250r to either a 35mm or 38mm pwk air stryker. I currently have the 35mm A.S. on my '86 ATC 250r and really like it, very snappy low / mid range and pulls well on top. It was a huge upgrade on that machine for sure! I trail ride in central NY, most are pretty tight so good low and mid range is needed. I was pretty much all set to buy another 35mm A.S for the TRX but without ever trying the 38mm version I'm not sure if I'm missing out? My quad is not modded all that much, the only mods are a paul turner 89 TRX race head pipe, paul turner muffler and boyesen rad valve. Do you guys suggest the 35mm or 38mm A.S. for my mods / application? I'm leaning towards the 35mm but would like to hear some opinions. The link to the company I bought my last carb from does not work any longer, anyone else have a suggestion on where to buy one of these carbs pre-jetted? Motorcyclecarbs.com looks to be a decent place. Thanks!

35 all the way.

38 you will loose too much bottom end snap, but will gain tons of top end run out.

Can you order each part separately from Sudco?

Hope all is well! Wish you and your family a Happy Holidays!

I have a 35 that was bored to38 it is strong from low-mid up, I had a 36 PJ prior, which was snappy off the bottom and all the rest of the way. This 38 seems stronger on the bottom, but not snappier if you can understand that. I don't think the 38 is perfectly jetted yet , I am still working on it, but the mid and top are defineatly stronger than with the PJ. but the bottom response seems not as snappy, with the A.S.. but feels like it is more powerful, but with sloppier response.
