Does anyone know anyone that makes CUSTOM exhausts ???

I need a Header that wraps closer to the motor......Like the one in the "Project Stupid Bike: dirt wheels - jan2008" magazine.

I e-mailed CT and am awaiting a response.

This is what I'm trying to replace.....

Thanks

i used a raptor headpipe on mine. i just welded the ends of the 650 pipe so it would bolt up.

Try to get hold of a Big Gun exhaust, their headers (at least on some version of the XR650R exhaust) is made to tuck in behind the XR's frame

Hey, where'd you get that oil tank?

Langbolt

That's exactly what I'm looking for!!!

Ya think Big Gun would have a pic on their Website!!!!

Thanks rustyATV!

The OIL tank was built from scratch.....I feel it's still a bit low in the frame as I don't think the gravitational flow is strong enough.

It seems to work....but I've been over heating a bit which is either coolant (a higher pressure cap will remedy as it is a known problem with the XR650r) or low oil pressure......I'm hoping it's the coolant.

Good luck with your swap too!

Thanks!

I wasn't able to get a whole exhaust, just the head pipe, but I'm going to try to adapt a Raptor exhaust for the rest.

Yeah, Big Gun's site wasn't any help. I think I found someone else's XR swap and asked. Then I scoured the parts sections of thumpertalk and advrider, and the latter is where I scored the head pipe.

Raptor exhaust ???? But you're building a HONDA!!!! LOL

Why not get a muffler for an XR650R and fabricate the mid-pipe to connect it to the header ?

That's what I'm gonna do.....I'll let ya know how it goes.

Have a Merry Christmas!

I wanted to at first, but there are a lot more aftermarket Raptor exhausts floating around than XR exhausts, and they're usually a lot cheaper, and I figure the mid pipes are going to be close in size.

Hey GOTFEAR...sorry I didn't add a reply to your question: How's it Ride.

It's a bit top heavy...like a raptor....but it's very fast!!! 138km/hr using a GPS.

It totally different than my 250R.....with a 2-stroke you can tell how fast you're going by the sound of the motor.....with this XR650R you don't realize how fast your going till you hit a corner.

It's too bad HONDA didn't built the 700xx like this!

That is one hot 400ex/650! Those plastics can make a raptor crap itself in jelousy.

Well....I took RustyATV's advice and bought a BIG GUN Exhaust off of E-bay.....Then I had a buddy of mine supply me with some stainless pipe (he's in the handrail business so it worked perfectly....1.900" and mandrel bends)....then had another buddy Tig weld it all together....It turned out Awesome!!!!

Have a look.

Dale512:

It's so the kickstarter will clear the rear brake pedal....It works great!

Plenty of stopping power

the airbox is great. that will allow alot of air volume into your motor.

Those look like they fit a LS1-LS6 Chevy. What chassis are they for? Nice headers.

Hey Beaudacious.....you're in Flyin_250r's neck of the woods.....he's in the niagara area...I'm in Whitby.

Sonoma eh!!!!

I just sold my 5.7litre V-8 S-10 for $2000.

It needed some floor work & a cab mount.....The guy I sold it to thinks he paid too much.

I bet you would have given' me that in a heartbeat!
