Im looking at the Craftsman 182 pc. Mechanics Tool Set with 3 Drawer Chest as a new set of tools for myself. Since the one Im using is from walmart and lacks quality, especially the case, and I dont really care about it, I tend to displace things, but do find them.

I need a new one so that I can have everything in one box and so I can take care of it.

The tools are what I need but I want to know more about the case. How is it organized, is there slots for the sockets?

if anyone has this, a picture of it would be really appreciated.

Thanks

I have that exact set, except it came with the 4 drawer steel box. (looks kinda like an oversized lunchbox) I quickly ditched that and bought a 15 drawer roller, couldn't be happier. The tools is basically everything you will need for 90% of your projects, but you'll soon find the need for for more specialty tools. Overall, good buy for the money.

I was in sears buying my dad a Chirstmas present and I saw that the actually tool boxes where on sale for like 300 bucks. They where pretty big too.

i looked at them yesterday when i was in sears. they dont have anything to hold the sockets from rolling around. i looked at a different tool box(same tool box but it didnt come with any tools). the whole thing is cheezy. the drawers had alot of side to side play and didnt slide on the rollers all that well. i tested the only two they had there they were both the same way. it was only 24.99 for it. im going back today possibly so if you want me to look at anything else i will just let me know.

i just saw the coolest toolbox at Lowes yesterday it would be perfect for enclosed trailers. It had a pioneer sound system, mini fridge and tons of spots for tools it was huge! I think it was $1700

and you can add these trays to a normal drawer http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00965172000P?vName=Tools&cName=Garage+%26+Tool+Storage&sName=Tool+Storage+Accessories but i dont know if they would fit in yours.

I just use these http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00941324000P?mv=rr but they are very cheap, but quite functional cause i can grab a whole set and take it with me.

i bought a 260 piece craftsman tool set a couple weeks ago that came in a 3 drawer plastic chest/box. it has 1/4" 3/8" and 1/2" drive sets a small set of standard and metric combination wrenches and then it looks like it probably has the same allen wrenches and screw/nut driver sets as that kit has. when i bought it it was on sale for $167 and originally it was $267. it has separate spots for all the sockets and ratchets and then a couple small storage "tray" spots that most of the wrenches fit other than a few of the bigger ones that i just put in the top compartment.
