Yes it will definatly work. I actually prefer OEM head gaskets over cometic and any other aftermarket brand. You can use a OEM head gasket up to 426cc, when you reach 440cc's you have to fun the cometic gaskets.

I used the cometic gasket in my 416 when I first built it and 10 minutes after starting it I blew the POS gasket. I like the fact of the OEM head gasket being a metal gasket. I run it in my 416 10.8:1 comp.

So you have had no problem then with your OEM leaking or blowing because of compression.... Cool,,, So a 406 at 11:1 should be nothing on an OEM at all..

i would look into the xr400 head gasket. its made up to same as the ex, but its a little thinner. i have one on mine with no problems for almost a year.
