How much oil does a 400ex hold if its like completely dry, have had the head off, clutch cover, everything off. Also, do I have to put it in the head or something to keep it from burning it up when I first start it?

the manual says 2 quarts....smidge more or less

2 qts fill the cam valley with oil when you reassble a manual would tell you everything you need to know really a must have well worth the 35 bucks good luck :cool:

i always put in 2.4 qts
