i just picked up a set from walmart. you can mount them on the fender mounts for the plastic. just wire them in. don't know how much the stator puts out for the lights though.

you can actually mount them where the old headlight bracket was connected to the handlebars. very simple. it looks kinda like a 400ex but the lights are chrome. i'll post some pics and maybe a how-to when done. it is also good cause when you turn, headlights turn with the handlebars. took me 5 minutes to find that spot.the lights were 19 bucks. if you want 2, you gotta switch out the 50 watt bulbs for 25 watts in each instead of 50 in each. it'll screw w/ your charging system.

there's 3 wires that com off the stock connector: green, blue and white. the green is the ground while the white is low beam and blue high beam. i found this out w/ a dvom (digital volt ohm meter) by switching around the controls and getting readings. i am not going to use the low beam and just do the high beam wire. i gotta splice into the ground and high beam wire and cover the other end up with electrical tape. in all, i have 7 wires i'm messing with: 2 on each light, the ground, high beam and low beam. i'm going to napa tommorow for new bulbs.

i was thinking of doing this light mod to. but couldnt you wire 1 to the low beam and the other to the high beam? only 1 would burn on low beam and both would burn when switched on high beam. im thinking of wireing them this way, how many watts does the headlight harness put out?

around 55 i'm guessing. the stock lens says somethinh about 55w on it. the only reason why i didn't do low beam was because the light that is on would not be centered. i mounted them to the spot where the old bracket bolts in to the steering stem. very simple. cost me 20 bucks for the kit and another 20 for different bulbs. i gotta get rid of my parking cable though cause it is kinda in my way. i don't know how to use it so whatever. if i need it to stay i'll put it in gear and that works fine.

when i mounted mine i ran it strait off the battery. with the on/off switch under the seat. wich kinda sucks. you have to take the seat off to trun them on and off. but i have 55w lights in mine and they work great. i love them. don't have any problems seeing at night now. hope the pic's help
