It is not an aftermarket cylinder but it is very special and rare. This is an 86 style cylinder with an all aluminum sleeve and nikasil coating on the bore. It is ported for mid and topend and runs a 66mm piston. The original steel sleeve was machined out and a custom 1/4 thick billet aluminum sleeve was pressed in. The cylinder runs strong and looks like artwork.

I 've been a member here for some time but never really posted, so I'm new to the process, please try to bear with me as I learn.

I've got a complete Curtis Sparks 265 package that I would consider parting with if your interested. Available in part or in whole.

1988 cylinder currently at 265cc ported and engraved by Sparks.
1985 model head which was milled, rechambered and engraved by Sparks.
Brand new complete piston kit.
Complete intake as supplied by Sparks, includes intake manifold, reeds & modified cage.
Keihin 38 mm PWK Airstriker carb with Sparks needle.
Complete Chrome Sparks TT exhaust and silencer.

All parts with exception to the exhaust are like new, mint condition.
The pipe does show some wear but still looks good and is in great shape overall.

This set up works awesome!!
It makes tremendous power everywhere, and when it gets on the pipe, it sings sweet, sweet 2 stroke music. It's just simply amazing!! Best 250r setup I have ever experienced.
Although I never had it together at the same time as my 350PV to compare, I would have to say it pulls just as hard on top as the 350.
I personally prefer the 265 over the 350 for everything but flat out dune riding.

I'm only willing to part with it because I have
3 other TRX250R's (original 86-250r, 88-265 MX, 87-350PV) and simply have just too many excellent quality parts in storage that are not being used.

I don't have pics at this time but if you are interested I could takes some and post them up. Just let me know.

Have you considered getting one of the newer cylinders available?

There is a company called CP Industries, Inc. that is offering some really neat cylinders. This company also makes the Pro-X cylinder, but the newer cylinders are updated port designs and are producing some really good power.

www.cpindinc.com

I know, personally, one engine builder that's getting the new Puma (250R) 431cc cylinder in the mid 90's on alcohol. There are small cc versions and larger cc versions.

McCoy's Performance (www.mccoysperformance.com) has hit 97 hp with the 431cc Puma (95 HP with an inframe pipe).

Rog

Not sure where you are getting your info from, but they keep plated and unplated cylinders on the shelf in many different configurations, you do have to purchase through their Dealer network.

I attached a printout for a complete setup, (included everything I could think of) to get the guy a better idea on cost from his Dealer.

Sorry guys, I didn't know it would show up as large as it did, so I will put a link to the file instead.

Good info. Where did you get your Puma from? Does that price include porting?

Sorry, I don't want to come across as someone trying to push product, just didn't want everyone that read the above numbers and think the kits were higher than they are. A lot of the cost comes from needing different reeds, intake and exhaust manifolds, studs and nuts, (especially the 12 point case nuts that solve that old...I can't get my wrench in there to tighten the case bolt problem...lol).

That is unported pricing, but it would probably surprise you how close the ports are.

I have a CT 310 that I reported for a +4mm stroker crank. It dyno's 57-58 HP at the rear wheels. It has a fairly fresh bore and piston but will need a new o-ring kit for the head. I'd take $750 shipped if interested. Just looking to build something a little different.

BINGO........only way to go for raw power and latest design.
