Finally got my first round of stuff installed. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics, it's been a long evening.

Getting There...

Hopefully my DRD exhaust will be here mid week.
I managed to get the stock front shocks tolerable at the track Saturday by backing off ALL of the preload. Still want some better shocks....

Damn that thing looks sweet! You Mofo's are about to make me get rid of my 04 and get one of those. I just have too much $ in this damn bike.

I had intended to remove the front shocks to measure the minimum/maximum travel of the arms, but ran out of energy at midnight.
Won't get that done now until next week. The bike is at Precision Racing this week so they can design a stabilizer mount for the YFZ450r and I am racing again this weekend.
I want to get the longest travel shock possible without binding the ball joints or tie rods.
Motosx mounted his 18-3/4" without any issues and they feel great.
Stock shock extended length is 18-1/2" for just under 10" of travel. My other race quad has over 12" of travel in the front. So we shall see what we can do short of new arms.
Laeger's has some designed for 19+" shocks, but I haven't heard what the wheel travel will be.

We have full shock conversions for the stock shocks with travel extendors. This setup will work well on the new YFZ450R $900 for all three shocks including high flow pistons. The 44mm front shocks have a lot of potential.

Good to know Colby!
That would be the cure to the only weak spot on this quad.

The new bike lookis *****in!!! How do you like the Laeger stuff? Does it fit pretty well or did you have to give them some gentle persuasion with the rubber mallot? Is the quality pretty good as well? What part of cali are you from and what series are you racing? Sorry for all the questions just debating on getting the Laeger stuff.

Thanks,
Mike

Personally, I thought the finish was good.
The fit is typical for aluminum nerfs and bumpers. You have to fit it up loosely and urge it a bit, but it all fits.
I'm racing the CMC Golden State Series North. We race at La Grange, Argyll (Dixon), Club Moto (Livermore) and Hollister GP tracks.
I'm in Stockton. We are getting racers from Redding down to Salinas.
CMC runs four, six-race series each year in Nor Cal. There are some other small local series scattered in there during the year too.

I needed a set quickly, so I ordered a yfz450 set from Rocky Mountain (Attack graphics) The sort of fit, but they will work for now.

Yes, perfect fit. Took about 20 minutes.

DRD, Trinity, Motoworks and a few others are selling a programmable FI controller.
They ship it pre-programmed for your mods. You can make adjustments on the bike without a laptop.
Down side is you can't program it with a dyno like the PC can.
