yes and no.

It depends on if you have motor mods that warrent a bigger carb. Would you put 30lb fuel injectors on you stock honda civic?

Yes. It does give you alot of power. Alot more then a pipe will ever do. But on a stock motor you can;t go to big.

Like an FCR39 on a stock motor is good,

FCR41 is to big on stock motor.

It will merely help/add-on to modifications that are presently on the machine. Like Texan said you don't want to over carb or inject it either, that will worsen things.

a 39fcr will help a lot on a stock motor w/ a pipe and filter

what would the cam have to do with the drive?? idk maybe im wrong.

a carb on a 400ex adds like 3-4 hp supposedly so they help but dont over do it and i think a bigger carb gives more top end and less low which is why u need motor work again idk maybe im wrong.

I don't know squat about the 250ex, but how does being shaft driven have ANYTHING to do with changing the cam. :huh

You can change the cam in a 250EX, just a little more of a pain in the arse than the 400Ex's. It's a lot harder to change the final gearing since it's a shaft drive. I believe there's a kit out there to change the rocker arm(s) to gain some lift/duration.

shaft drive has NOTHING to do with the cam

shaft is in relation to the transmission and getting power to the rear tires,

cam is in relation to the valve lift and duration

you can change your cam, dont know if anyone makes one for that ride though
