I am on my third battery this year already. It seems as though there is something draining my battery but I cannot figure out what it is. Any help as where to start trouble shooting this beast? 416ex.

I've gone through 2 this year myself. Mine were just crap batteries.

have you given the batteries a full charge before you install them?

Yes, full charge per the installation instructions. THe last one I bought was from Walmart, I let it stand out in the garage in my 400 for about two weeks in the cold, do you think the cold could have killed my battery that quickly. Battery is only about a month or so old!~

my suggestion is watch what batteries you buy. My brother bought some powersports battery for his 400 at Advanced Auto. 3 months later maybe less its completely dead and he needs a new one. Yuasa is my recomendation in battery.

Invest in a trickle charger, their worth the money. (Cheap too)

batteries hate the cold its drains them super fast. if i were you i would just leave your battery on a trickle charger or bring it inside if your not using it for like a week.

I have noticed that in the cold my batteries have alot less juice so it could have to do with the cold.

you could try the busa battery it has like 55 more CCA.

switch from a liquid lead acid battery to a dry cell like the Odyssey.

their twice the price, but guaranteed 2500 complete discharge and recharges and can be mounted in any position....no liquid to leak.

they typically have twice the cold cranking amps and are slightly smaller insize from what your using now.

No more problems EVER

make sure the plug on your rectifier is fully plugged in; i replaced my battery this summer and still have had the same issue... but i noticed my rectifier wasn't fully plugged in this fall before i put it away. worth a look anyways, as is the rest of the wiring.
