just got this today...best part, it was FREE. its a 1982 kawasaki js550. twin cylinder 2-stroke. ugly as hell, but i diddnt pay anything for it so i cant complain. new plugs, charged battery, and some fresh gas was all it took to make it run. heres some pics.

heres the motor. hopefully i'll have a new pipe and filter on it by next summer.

no leaks as far as i know. only a few cracks in the fiberglass around the edge. yea im pretty sure im gonna have all the cracvks repaired and paint it kawasaki green.

Really that is awesome i have always wanted to try one of those stand up skis. Looks like a lot of fun.

thanks everybody. so far, ive got it all wiped down with simple green, i took all the nasty old foam off it, and im getting a new boot for the spark plug wire today hopefully.

Me and my dad have an 88 kawi 440. Pretty much same thing as yours. The thing is just last summer we re-built the whole thing new crank new bearing everything. You are gona have fun on that 550 cant beat free either.

Great deal, but I do want to say one thing, you have to be in the best shape possible to really ride a stand up, otherwise they kick your arse hardcore.

ive ridin' stand ups before lol. and yes they wear you out fast.
update-got the new boot for the plug wire, runs GREAT. only thing it needs now is a new stabilizer on the right side, bumper on the front, and a new mat.

Stand-ups are great, definately a challenge for beginners though.

I've got a '94 (I think) Kawasaki 750SX in the garage. It hasn't seen water since I was in high school in the mid-90's!

you can tell the year by the last 2 vin numbers.
