anybody here have or have owned an f150 with a 4.9l straight 6?

ive heard there pretty reliable, but how do they do on gas? found one i can go buy, the truck is really clean. 95 with 135k miles. no rust, everything taken care of. with a 5 speed in it.

anybody know the milage these get?

Im not sure on gas maileage. ive heard anywhere from 12 up to 18 and 19 but cant say from experience. One thing i can say is that it will run forever. Man you cant tear a 300-6 up. They have got to be the toughest engine even built beside chevys 2.2 4 cyl. A buddy had a 94 F-150 with a 300-6 in it and it had well over 300 thousand on it with nothing but oil changes and plugs.

my dad had a 90 with a straight 6. dont know the liters. never had any actual motor problems. completely bullet proof.
