Well i bought this quad back in 06' off a guy that hardly rode it and in the past 2 years i've put a pretty good beatin on it.. I've kept up with regular maintenance and the normal stuff but i wanted to go through and get everything in top condition... The motors got 2 rebuilds on it, both since i owned it, one each year and its time for a change lol. Its got a 406 or 416 comin its way still deciding, and probably a stg 2 hot cam and a crf timing chain. I'll prolly replace the clutch and basket while i'm in there but also still deciding on that as well.

I'm gettin lots of stuff blasted and pc'ed unsure of the color cuz i'm havin a hard time decidin on colors... Any suggestions would be great lol..

Heres what i got done now, ill keep updating as i go, right now i'm just waitin till i can get to a sandblaster and order a few parts.

Heres' what she looked like earlier in the year, i forgot to take pics before i started tearing it down.

Heres where i started takin the pics, a-arms and front shocks off

Stem out

Everything except motor nerfs and swinger, that was the most pain in the as$ thing to do ever!

Bad idea... made it way harder to get out

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a302/Ridinred300/torch.jpg

The aftermath of getting out tthe swinger bolt, it was bent on each side so it would spin in the swingarm still but wouldnt pound out at all, it took 4 nights , torches, and a sawzall to get that thing out!

And i'm pretty sure i cracked the swingarm in the process, but it coulda been done before i got to it, not sure..

And this is what i'm lookin at right now, i'm probably the least organized person ever, but i'll manage to get it all back where it goes hopefully.. :ermm:

anyone got any color suggestions or anything?, i have no idea. I'm keepin the yellow plastic, and i'm not sure what colors would look good with them.

The color I like on 400exs with yellow plastic is I think its candy blue. Or else red.

Ha only if you put mcdonalds stickers on it. Theirs pics of a IMS/ROLL 400ex that has yellow plastic and red frame and it looks sweet.

Some one on these forums that has a 400ex thats yellow with a candy blue frame and it looked sweet.

With yellow, I would go blue.

I want candy red when I do mine. Then with some white fenders possible

just curious, how much is it to powercoat frames?

Blue is a nice color to go with yellow plastics thats what I plan on doing to mine. The pic Exrider434 put up looks good in red.
