shocks for a big guy like me?

I'm a big guy and I have a '03 400ex I weight around 260 what stiffer shocks will I need for the 400ex so I don't bottom it out when jumping and what not.

how much money are you wanting to spend? You can put 450r shocks on your 400ex for way less then any aftermarket shock. You have to grind a little on the top of the shock. No big deal people do it all the time. If you get an aftermarket shock they will valve it for your weight and riding style etc.

Oh the 450r shock can hold my weight so I don't bottom it out when jumping?

yes get the 450r shocks they wont bottom out nearly as easily as the 400ex also you dont have to grind the shock at all to get them on you just have to nock out the welded nut that is for the fender mount and replace it with a thinner bolt head like a pan head with the nut above the body mount.

Thats even better you don't have to grind on the shock. Ebay is the best place to get a pair of 450r shocks for pretty cheap. Make sure you shop around and find some with low hours.

look on craigslist first thats where i got mine at for only 100 when usually they are around 200

Hey your 400ex shocks may be worn out. I'm 240lbs and when my buddies 400ex shocks got some hours on them I bottomed it too.
