Hi,

I can get a lonestar frame very cheap, but it needs a lot of work (some welding and stuff).
The guy I can buy it from doesn't know exactly which type it is, does some one know if it would be any good ?
I added some pictures:

Are you sure that's an LSR frame? Perhaps an old one? It resembles my LSR frame, but it is different. What do you mean by "which type is it"?

I don't think that is a Lonestar, if anything it's an old JP frame which Lonestar eventually bought out, but if you plan to put a 250R motor in there, unless it's $100 or less, and you yourself are a fabricator, I wouldn't bother. It looks like a standard front, no-link so you will need to find a no-link shock and swingarm that will work with that frame.

It also looks like someone hacked it up quite a bit to put some kind of other motor in it - it's not like it will be a piece of cake to put a 250R motor back in.

OK, the guy is selling it as a lonestar, but I noticed it looked different from the lonestars I've seen.

Thanks for the info, I think I'm going to keep my hands off it.

Hey, Thats for sure a LSR. But Envy is also right it is the old JP racing style with a few of LSRs upgrades. Must have been bought when LSR first bought out JP. I also agree that unless its real cheap dont bother with it.

hey man, how much is very cheap? I might get it if you really dont want it and use it for a hybrid build

looks pretty light weight is that one of their TT frames.. I do not see hardly any metal in the back portion of the frame.

im 95%sure im gonna have to agree with the people that said JP, i just looked at a no-link JP and that looks JUST like it, the thing i dont understand is why on the front shock mounting spot there is a round pipe welded in there because like every chassie i'veseen there is a square and it normaly has a design or a name in there...

I know it is an old topic, but I'm still thinking of getting this frame. I can actually get it for free from this guy if I buy his trx330cc engine.

But I am wondering, would this frame (when restored) be better then a OEM frame ?

And does anyone have pictures of the same frame of how it should look with all the motor mounts ?

Obvisously someone cut the rear and front motor mounts away probably to install another type of engine, but I'd like to restore it in the original state and put the 330cc in it.

This does look like a Lonestar TT frame. I bought Zack Willets old TT frame and it looks very similar. This would not be good for any MX'ing.

Been at least 10 years when I bought it from him. I will dig out some pics and post of just the frame.

thnx, that would be great if you have pictures of your old frame.
I'm not going to use it for mx-riding, more trailriding.
