Plus 2 arms will help your handling and all of the standard travel arms use the same length shocks as the stock arms.
Standard vs long travel, there is no comparison.
If you invest in good standard travel shocks, once they are set up for you; even with stock arms you will feel the difference.
If you are a casual rider, not racing or riding black diamond trails, you will probably get by with standard travel.
Thing is, good suspension is the best way to get faster on trails or track. It's more important than engine mods.
If you are an aggressive rider or racing, buying standard travel suspension will just put off the inevitable: you will want long travel. And it will be after investing almost the same money in standard travel.
You alone have to make the decision on how you want to ride. To be your fastest, you will need long travel, either now or later.
If you can be without your quad for a few weeks, the most economical way to improve suspension is to get your stock shocks done up by Noleen, TCS or one of the other shock builders. That will run less than half of what new shocks will cost.
A tip, buying used shocks is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get. To be their best they need to be valved for your weight and riding style. That means you buy them cheaper and still need to send them out for re-valving. Bargains can be found but they are always a gamble.
