Trading my blaster for a 2000 cr 250. Here is the ad.
2000 Honda CR 250R Never Raced,But is Race Ready. Supper Fast, reliable, best bang for the buck. HAS- Black Excell Rims,FMF pipe,Pro Circuit Pipe, reed valves, boyseen clutch and clutch cover,Graphics Kit,good tires, fresh top end 10 hours ago, always use high performance lubes, well maintained, must sell, to busy with work not enough ride time.

It looks good and I like it. Is there any cons to the bike? Are they reliable for the most part?

CR250's are lightweight, great handling motocross bikes. If you want to go ride on the mx track, go for it. But if you just want it to trail ride and rip around the yard, its probably not for you.

That's a good looking bike by the way.

I plan on riding in the back yard track I made then working my way to motocross or just playing around at all the tracks my friends have made. Heck for what I do on my quad I might end up getting into freestyle. Are these bikes uncontrollable? I know this is alot of bike for my first dirtbike. Should I just stay away if its too much power?

If you don't have a lot of seat time on bikes I'd steer away. 250s have A LOT of power.:chinese:

haha for you maybe :p

For a first bike, a 250 isn't a very good choice if you have zero experience, but as long as you ride it easy for a little bit to get yoru bearings straight, you should be alright.

The only thing I don't like (not really that big of a deal) but anymore it's hard to find parts for cr's 02 and under. It's just your options are limited, so you are pretty much monopolized by the dealer.

Im not to worried about parts. Theres always service honda. As long as I can get a piston im good to go. I just need to get my blaster running good and the trade should be good. I do have some experience on a dirtbike. I also do bmx at the local skatepark with a foam pit.

That's a B A bike. If you trade a golden blaster for it, you're still coming out ahead.

Is the person in the picture you? If so, your plenty big enough for a 250. Unless your a very light rider (less than 150lbs) a 125 is too small of a bike. The 250 will serve you well. Just respect the throttle and you'll be fine.

you'll be just fine. Make sure to take it easy and make sure to return the throttle when you want to slow down. i had a hard time with that. and since its your first bike. always use full gear. I wish i would have.
