looking to put a +3mm crank in and maybe a 12:1 piston. Anyone ever seen this done or is that going ot be to much.. thinking hotrod crank with a je piston.. anyone know if i have to do anything extra to the motor?

Every combination of bore/stroke/compression has been tried. I'm shure it won't be "too much." Before you start spending, you may want to do a little research. I think you'll find more power with a good port job, the right cam, and stock bore and stroke. Your reliability will go up also.

shes already ripped down.. i have a stage 2 HC and full exhaust and intake kit. im just wondering if i can get away with the +3 crank and a 12:1 piston without double gasketing it or anything like that.

If you are talking about a Hot Rods +3, then yes you will be able to run it with the 12:1. Just clay check and you should have plenty of clearance.

ive heard je pistons aint da best,id take wiesco above that and cp above wiesco,cp's rev quicker cause theyre lighter thats wat this atv shop told me,but theyre also bit more pricey,i have an 04 450r and i got a 12:5:1 paid $210

my 450s torn apart now,one of my shift forks went haywire so im having to get a new one and while im at it i wana replace the cp piston with a venom 14:25:1 so if you want the cp we could prolly workout a real good deal, its got about 3.5 hours MAX on it wen the fork went out and i tore it apart so yeah pm me or watevr if your interested

yup,the highest octane you can get at the pump(93 i think) it works real good! was kinda a bummer when the fork went though cause it was in the shop(i let an atv shop fix it)for almost 3 months and now i get it back and i have about 1/2 a tank to 3/4 through it and it goes out and i gota tear it all apart again,i got it torn down to the frame now though,im gona get it custom painted along with the plastics, should look sick when its done!

Are you sure you have your facts straight?

Word of mouth is sometimes the most BS?

Just my 2 cents!

about the cp being lighter and reving quicker? im just saying wat they told me,if thy are lighter itd b only by a VRY lil bit cuz thy dont weigh much n e way but if your asking me if i have any proof,no i dont i just heard that and ive done ALOT of research on pistons and all and called performance companies and that shop i got mine done at said they hadnt heard good things from je either and i would say the majority seem to use cp or wiesco, max power(ice cube big bore kits) use cp and wiesco and cp in theyre bigger kits, venom racing has cp build theyre pistons and they recomend only cp(that may be biased idk) but idk man just from wat ive seen and heard thats what id say,i guess you can take wat you want from that and leave wat you want either way i aint looking for an arguement

you wont be disappointed with the stroker crank, gobs of power, but like chino said earlier, a good port job will help even more.
