so i have a set of '07 YFZ shocks coming for my 400ex. i'm aware that to fully benefit from any shock, you need to have them valved (and possibly sprung) to your weight and riding style.. but my question is this:

what are shocks valving set up like from the factory on your YFZ, 450R, LTZ, KFX etc? since these units are compression and rebound adjustable, what kind of range do they have? i am ~190lb, and ride mostly mx-style.

i know most will want to say "have them valved", but the fact is i am not in a position to spend that money right now.

No worries, ride them and enjoy. The YFZ shocks should work pretty well in your application. Send'em to C&D Racing when you can afford it later.

You don't want to hear what needs to be done for them to work correctly(if they even can on that quad), so ride them and hope nothing breaks/fails.

im sorry to say...but im pretty sure YFZ shocks don't work on a 400ex without modifiying the top shock mount, YFZ's have a VERY wide shock mount and 400's are skinnnyyyy
