Im thinking about picking up a 98' Audi A4, quatro, 1.8t, 5 speed,100k miles, some mods, great cond.

Does anyone have any experience with the 1.8t engine with 100k+ miles? because im going to be using this as a daily commuter to school and back (45 mins each way, twice a day 5 days a week) And i really dont need something that is going to be un reliable, if i wanted that i would take one of the fords:D

thanks alot guys.

fun cars, seen those motors make it deep into the 200ks shouldn't be any issues as long as its in good condition now, be careful and check it over good because they are expensive to fix when they do break.

My father has an 02 A4 with about 80,000 on it. There has been no mechanical failures on it so far. Exept i think the pollution control device wore out. at around 70 but warrenty covered it and he had the car out of the shop in an hour. Car is pretty dam fast to for a 1.8 to. Audi's are amazing cars.

A4s are good all around cars. great commuter cars too. my friend has an 03 with about 60000 miles and no major problems. hes on his 3rd clutch but thats his fault, not the cars. it does have several small problems here and there but he really beats the thing. it pulls right pretty hard when you let off the wheel and some other small stuff is wrong from him crashing after he decided to run the cops after turning right on a "no turn on red light" probably would have got a warning.
