I'm just wondering if you guys that have lifted trucks could give me some insight.

I have an 07 Chevy Silverado crew cab pickup, and would like to go with a small lift. I am contemplating a 4" or 6", but want to know if you guys that have lifts can still get your quads in the back with ease?

Thanks, Jay

that was before tires of course, truck sits 2 or 3 more inches off the ground now and that was a 6" its not to bad throwing it up there but its nice to have an extra set of hands around when you do it

The higher you go the harder it is... my buddy has an 07 silverado with a 6" lift and 35" tires.... you could put a quad in the back, but I wouldn't want to lift it in that's for sure. Trailer would be easier...

Thanks guys, I'm not 100% sure what I'm gonna do yet, but i've got time. I dont' wanna get the lift installed til the end of Feb due to the snow we've been getting.

This truck won't be used too much for hauling the quad since we've got a race hauler and all, but for little trips to the practice track and stuff it's easier to just load the back of the truck.

Thanks!!! Jay:D

This is the kit that I'd be getting if I had that truck:

Total Chaos Upper Control Arms (www.chaosfab.com)

Icon Vehicle Dynamics (formerly DR) Adjustable Coilovers (0" to +2")

Of course you'd need those cool fiberglass front fenders like that truck has too...

Scratch that, you've got an 07, not an 08. My mistake.

That place rocks for Chevy suspension
I have a 2500HD and i just use long ATV ramps with no problems at all.

I have the new body style 07. Its the exact same as 08.

I'm thinking fabtech 7" kit, but I am gonna go talk to my local shop and see.

just expect to spend a decent amount of time in the garage if your doing it yourself, although i did do it with a bare minimum of tools, it took me basically two days with a total of 10 1/2 hours of work time:rolleyes: its the reassembly that kills and your gonna have to do a little finagling to get the front differential out not a whole lot of room.

when I get out of school im going with a 12" lift on my graduation present to myself with some 20's and 40's :)

Ive heard great things about Cognito but I thought they fooled with F250's also?

The kit will be installed professionally. I have a local shop that does about 60 lift installs a year and they are gonna take care of me. I am probably going in there tommorow.

Just talked to the gym and I guess his son is actually into quads, so I'm gonna make some carbon fiber parts for him in trade for the labor.. haha.. awesome!

Cognito Motorsports hands down for GM trucks. They are the best in the business for our trucks. Heres a pic of their new 10"-12" kit for the 1500. I know its not what your looking for, but definately badass. You can get ahold of Justin or Chad at Cognito directly or get ahold of Nick at Norcal Trucks. Both are in CA.

After talking with my local 4x4 shop, I think I'm gonna be going with a 6" lift. I am still up in the air about the wheels sizes, but I'm leaning towards 22" wheels with 35" tires, but might just go with the 20" & 33" tire combo...

18's and 35's look pretty good with the 6"

I know its your truck and its your decision to do with it what you please.... but 22's and 35's is going to look ridiculous IMO.

I'd do either 17's or 18' with 35's. Its your truck though.

Also with the lift do you want something you can USE or just something to put it in the air to fit over big tires? I'm guessing you're going more for looks based on tire and wheel sizes.

Jay I see you got a new website now man, that's great. Dave showed me the light! haha. Great job man! You'll do great things for this sport I'm sure.

I hear ya, and everyone that I've talked to is trying to talk me outta 22/35 combo. I have a little while to figure out what I'm gonna do, but I've got a couple of different combos.

Also, glad you liked the site. Yes, there are alot of new things happening over here and its awesome working with the factory team!!! Keep an eye out man!

22/35 would look overkill. My brother had 20's and 35's
