i romoved all the bushings and what not, but the balljoint is like built into the a arm, could you remove them and re-install them after pc? if so, how much would that cost?

i just dont wanna try to remove them myself couse i dont wanna rip the rubber boot

Shouldnt be a problem. And as long as its not a huge issue getting them out, it wont cost any extra

im gunna send all 4 a arms and my stock swing arm i guess to get pc'ed but i need to decide on a color..

anyway, my upper a arms have needle bearings, and i got all the needle bearings out of my swing arm/lower a arms, but the top a arms (yfz) where it bolts to the frame is solid all the way across so i cant use a socket and vice.. can needle bearings be left in for pc or do i have to get them out? thanks

They need to come out as the burn off process will ruin them. If you cant get them out I can, but will need replacements to reinstall if you would like.

Pappy, I'm going to throw some small parts into his box.

Rear Douglas Bead Lock Rings: Flat Black
Rear Grab Bar : Mirror Black

And maybe:
Lower A-arms : Mirror Black

Bill it together or separate, doesn't matter.
Thanks

ok well i dont think i can get the top bearings out without ruining them and i only have 6 rides on these a arms so im just gunna leave them. i still wanna send my lowers and swinger though.

they are the blue housers, i think its just regular yamaha blue... you'll see the a arms once they come, do you think you could let me kno if you have a close enough match to there current color? im pretty sure a yamaha blue will match

i guess i need a price on:

lower a arms= yami blue?
swing arm= yami blue?

sorry for changing my mind alot, i just dont feel like messing up some parts when its not necessary. ya kno "if it aint broke dont fix it" haha

im leaving to ship them out now, along with w/e d3ktrix is sending

thanks

koo

Will flat black hold up good on the beadlock rings? Or would a gloss/semi-gloss hold up better?

Pappy
01-06-2009, 05:44 PM
Well, none of it will last forever ofcourse, but I cant honestly answer you. I havent ever done a set of rings in a Matt/Flat Black. I looked at the specs of the powder and it has a slightly lower impact rating then gloss. We can always try them and if they dont hold up I will redo them for you:p

Lets go with gloss then.
Flat always feels like it can just scratch right off. I just picked it at first so it wouldn't show the imperfections in the rings, but that doesn't really matter.

Thanks

Ok, just an update. Arms are back from having ball joints removed. As far as I know they are ok, but they sure needed grease bad. Very dry and scummy under the boot!

Off to stripping for these

Pappy

Arms are stripped, and I will be shooting the candy blue tomorrow evening.

Beadlock rings and grab bar are completed.
