Ok so my brother has been searching and searching for a while now looking for the 88' stock seat cover for his 250R. Red with the white fortrax on the side. Does anyone know where you could find a new one or one thats in MINT condition?

It looks as though you can still by this from babbittsonline:

265 bucks...

I've had pretty good luck with them on parts that I've bought.

bert400,
You can order a complete seat like troybuilt said but it will only come in black, the part number will supercede to it. I tried to get one about two years ago. I would try cosmicquads.com. they custom make covers and seem to have good quality. I have seen one done for an 88 and it was nice.

The OEM red seat has been discontinued for years. I remember seeing an NOS one sell on Ebay for $600.

Graves motorsports will custom make one for you too. Jeff is great to deal with, highly recommend. If you can't get the OEM seat.

Ceet will too, or at least used to. I had them make a custom one for me years ago. little more money.

I took my seat assembly off just for this reason. I boxed it up just incase I decide to make mine into a museum piece later on in life. :D

I worked with cosmicquads.com to reproduce the 88 side decals. They weren't able to get the rear warning label as correct as they wanted so if you need it 100% you have to do some pioneering probably.

Here is a pic of the first seat I had them do. http://www.all250r.com/seatrestoration/seatrestoration.htm

That's a sweet repo cover. How much did it cost? I might have to get one instead of the gripper one I currently have.

I'm not sure what's going on. Hopefully it's temporary. Try emailing from their site. I usually get a response that way.

All good things come to those that wait.

Last I knew, they had tons of orders in process. It's a small company and everything is made by hand. Just the way it should be! So give them a little time, they will get back to you.

Thanks Jason & Derrick!
And yes, we now have the warning label closer to stock. Just a few minor differences.

Bert, I just sent you a pm.

Looks like i got my choice of:

Factory style cover w seams - $75

seamless cover w FOURTRAX- $125

seamless cover w FOUTRAX and warning label- $150

Both seamless covers require the seat assembly to be sent to them for install. I believe i'm going with the $125 option and i will update w pics when i can.

Thanks every1 for the tremendous help, its greatly appreciated!!
and thanks to Tammy @ cosmicquads!!

The warning label is pretty close.

Bert how does all the colors match up? Ie. Frame powder, plastic and seat material?

BERT306
02-09-2009, 05:55 PM
The seat is just a hair darker than my fenders, my fenders are faded i'm sure but in awesome shape.

The soda fountain red powdercoat couldn't be any better of a match to my plastic!
