a laptop with a cable that runs from the laptop and plugs just under the seat on the bike. I think only dealers can get them though.

nope anybody can buy the hardware. The usb plug is around $500, and there is a couple of other things you will need too. I can post all the part numbers sometime this week for the hardware. My stuff is at a friends house, and I dont know when I'll be there this week.

Yeah, I believe that is part of it, but there is other stuff you need as well. It's all in the service manual

I'm pretty sure you must be a dealer to get the B.U.D.S software. A "legit" copy anyway.

My dealer told me I can't get it unless I am a dealer just yesterday. to read the EFI trouble codes.

there are error codes that can be brought up on the Renegades and Outlanders without B.U.D.S

maybe since the DS was wired for a speedometer from factory there is a way to bring them up on that also? (with the speedometer accessory)

I for one would really appreciate it if you would tell me where I can purchase this code reader. I was leary of an EFI quad for this reason and a newbie, being 2,000 miles away at a race and not knowing whats wrong. I was going to carry a bunch of EFI parts and just start replacing stuff till I fixed it....lol!

I dont care what your dealer says. You can buy the software and hook everything up from a computer to the quad and figure it out yourself. I will get my book tomorrow and post all the part numbers you will need.

You and the Warbirdmech....I don't know who you guy's are but you got great info along with some others on this site that help keep these can-ams running, on the tracks beating those yams, suks, hon;s, etc....:D Keep up the good work guy's! We appreciate it!!!

Well I called Paulson's, the parts dept can't get a hold of the MP-2 nor the diagnostic cable. He said the service guys there go through BRP to get them so I gather it is impossible for the public to get it unless you know a service center willing to purchase it for you.

weird....they let me order it, my family owns another atv shop though, and they do work together. However, I didnt get the stuff cause I had them cancel the order, it is alot of money.

Sorry about that. I guess I could order it for you, if they still let me.
