this sound is really freaking me out, the sound i'm talking about is when i kick down you will hear it in the video

the engine in on the bench in neutral(watch the sprocket move) why is that? also when in gear it doesn't stop rolling i can push it and make it roll in gear, which it shouldn't do

but the sound is what scaring me the most, any ideas on this?

All I can say is, it's really quiet. So much so, that I can't hear anything. Or I'm deaf. You choose.

I got it to work from the link above.Sounds like the tranny is stuck between gears.Did you run thru all the gears when you assembled the bottom end?Try shifting it while pushing the kicker thru and see if it jumps into gear then. From your issue with the sprocket rotating all the time it sounds like the tranny isnt engaged.

Pot calling the kettle black..... Get a clue, posts like these are securing your position as the 250r forum idiot. I can always count on you to make a worthless post taking cheap shots at other members. Why don't you make an honest try at posting something helpful instead of your typical childish BS?

So when you have it in gear can you spin the sprocket and turn the crank?

yes takes a little bit of force, not much, but yea i can turn it

read an learn lol
ok you can spin your sprocket with it in gear an the crank well theirs no head on your motor so there for what force is stopping you from doing so? none lol
with out the head theres no comp.

but if the sprocket moves but the piston dont then you have a problem but i have a parts an i have all the gears an they are all like new an ill give you a good price on whatever it is you need but it dont sound like you'll be needing parts

as for the noise for the most part it just sounds like are an maybe even the rings rubbing on the cylinder or do you have oil in the cases?

sorry for the other post its been a long day you dont even know....

Lot of moving parts in a engine can make those noises.
What ever it is, its moving same speed the crank is moving.
Check the counterbalancer, see if that bearings worn out or the bolts loose or gone. Check the crank, grab the flywheel & see if any movement up or down to see if the main bearing is bad.
The bolt, that holds the 2 gears on the crank, that could have come loose & now is grinding into the clutch cover.
The big gear on the kick starter can wobble as your kicking it over & slap the back of the clutch basket & make noise.

Did the engine start making this noise running, or you havnt put the engine in the frame yet & found the noise.
If you were running it,, give some details what it was doing or sounding like.

really i would say i have about 25 hours give or take on this top end

I'm still not happy with my jetting as I feel it should make alot more power down low to mid range which is what it is ported for and the exhaust is built for

I planned on putting new rings in it while i had it out for the winter anyway because I was told the when the rings go so does the low range of the powerband

and the last couple of times riding when i go to start it, it makes that same sound as in the video

and about the head being on for it have comp.: I know this, thats why i stated when the engine was in the frame and in first I could roll it all day long, it made it a pain to get on my stand, it shouldn't do that

also when riding and coming off of 3/4 to full throttle it will make this little scraping noise, leading me to believe it is the rings

it does sound as though there is something going on on the clutch side. could be a number of things as neil mentioned. if you feel comfortable i would pull the clutch cover and have a look see in there to see what the culprit is. whilst in there yu may aswell pay attention to other areas as well ie counter balancer bearings ect ect. good luck and keep us posted.

Check to see if the primary gear on the crank is rubbing on the underside of the clutch basket.
