Was just interested if the new 09 plastics will fit the older z's. i thing it would be cool if they did. if not i guess a new set of lakers will have to do.

im not mechanically speaking here but from the looks of it probly not.. they completely redid the geometry of the frame and probly moved the bracket mounting points but i culd be wrong

i was looking at that too. i dont think the frame changed from 08 to 09. the main thing i was looking at is if the gas tank and seat is the same. if they are then it would be realatively easy to do the conversion.
i hope it can be done easily.

aer you kidding? lol. they completely changed the 09 z400. FI new frame design etc. it made it have a lower center of gravity so its not as tippy.

no i'm not kidding. and I wouldn't call it completely changed.
the frame geometry seems the same, it looks like they beefed up(made thicker) up the rear section of the frame, changed the steering stem, changed the peg offset, and switched to a square tubed subframe, and i think added wider a-arms for width.
you could probably achieve the same results with aftermarket parts anyways.
-those are all great changes but they would have no bearing on whether or not the plastics would switch over.
to update to the new the z look, it looks like you would need:
-front plastics
-rad shrouds
-gas tank
-seat
-rear plastics
-new mounting brackets
-and lights-- if you wanted them
with deep enough pockets it can be done.

yea and the new Z has an all new seat for better ergonomics so in reality its not even worth it to try converting it :ermm:
