I have a wireless bicycle computer that doesn't get used. Has anyone figured out a way to mount one of these on your ATV? The brain is easy to mount on the bars, but the wheel speed sensor I'm not so sure about.

I figured it out, I'll post pics tomorrow if anyone is interested. Should make for a pretty cheap speedo since these can be purchased for around $20-$40. Wireless is the way to go, it would be much harder if you had to figure out how to run the wires out of the way.

Yea, post some info on that. That would be great if I could hook a speedo up to the kids quad.

I got everything mounted and it works, but only when the computer is close to the wheel sensor. Turns out the wireless transmitter only works if it is within 18 inches of the computer. Apparently wireless isn't the way to go...

Some newer systems are digital and transmit up to 15 feet, this or a wired system would work. I'll still post pics later today.

Those are sweet, but I really only wanted a speedo and the bike computer was about $20. Since is doesn't work it'll be going back on my mountain bike and I'll probably get one like yours.

I think that would be great for a mini quad. 18" inches total should work for his quad.

i got one on mine but sad part about mine is cant see how fast youre going at night.

I mean my atv is licensed to drive on the highway and when im cruising, its hard to see how fast you;'re going.. wished they made a speedo with where you can wire it to the battery and an on and off switch for back lighting.

the Vapor like the one in my pic (next step up from what you have ) does hook to the battery and has a backlight that comes on and goes off with the quad

Well, I purchased a wired one for $16.00 for the kids bike. Its made by Sigma(if I remember correctly). It has enough wire for a mini quad, but I think you would have to splice some more wire onto the current wire to make it long enough for a regular size quad.
