My first try was my heatshield. Didnt come out good at all. Then I tried my master cylinder cover. I got the hang of it then. I did my brake lever too. Thanks, Ant.

ther are TONS of threads about polishing and excatly how to do it...http://www.eastwoodcompany.com/aspfiles/lib/buffing/aluminum_wheel.asp?UID=2002121520092135&Dep_Key1=mfb This is the right way to do it.

The reason the heat shield didn't turn out as well is because it is not aluminum. Don't get me wrong, with the right equipment, it can be buffed/polished to a nice shine, but it will not keep the shine as well as the aluminum parts.

your heat sheild is made of stainless steel and it will take a little more work to get it polished , get you a bench grinder and buffing wheels and polish.
