I wanted to trade my 2003 honda 400ex for a quadzilla the quadzilla runs fine and all I was wondering is the quadzilla faster than a 400ex? Is there a comparison between the two like pro's and con's?

Thanks!
Andy

Dude,
a quadzilla is the most powerfull ATV ever made (factory form0. It will blow away your 400ex. it is a 500cc 2 stroke, insaine.

Depending on the shape, check out ebay completed items for price comparrision...

I do know, the quadzilla is a collectable bike... So if you want to restore, you can get your $ back. at least more than a 400ex.

How good are you with a wrench? quadzilla is like a 20 y/o bike vs an 03.

I am pretty good on cars so I'll take it as a small version with one piston instead of four pistons :D the guy has a bad knee and can't kick start it.

Here's pictures of it.

from what i can see with the top a-arms, it's any 87....little more work involved making them reliable. probably a good idea to have the head studs upgraded to 10mm, and i would order up some rcm base gaskets, copper head gasket, and billet washers (uses rm250 bearing). those mods will definately help it stay together. dr.q sells all them. check the price of an 87 oem head gasket!!!

bring a 8mm socket and take the stator cover off and check for play in the flywheel, if the crank bearings have play, it can be a costly fix...$350 for case inserts, then bearings and might as well rebuild the crank.

having the squish fixed on the head also helps it run alot better...plus the intake on the 87's are awhole lot bigger. they can be made to make alot more power. i had a dr.q duner port with an 87 and it was a monster. i have his 88 hrd 540 kit now and it makes strong more useable power for mx anyway.

go to quadracerhq.com tons of info on there about 500's. i could go on all day about spending money on these things!!

i definately would do the trade though... if u really plan on keeping it, there is plenty to mod the those things, again check out that website, use the search function and read.

800screws: looks like a LT250R. Is that what it is?

What questions should I ask the guy about the quad? He told me it starts over on 1 or 2 kicks and there is a couple of spot welds on the frame.... The tires are pretty new anything else I should ask him?

bring an 8mm socket/wrench with you. pull the stator cover off to see the flywheel/cranks free play. if the flywheel can move up or down, ANY AT ALL. the motor needs to be totally rebuilt including case inserts. it takes alot to crack a zilla frame, so I bet the motor might be well used also. It can be fixed better than new, but will cost a couple grand...

oh and jumping off the roof of Mickey D's is just silly. a LT500 requires you to be a bonzai master. you cant just willy-nilly do something crazy on it, it'll put you in a tree. :D
