450r rear shock

ok i need an ansewer real quick.
i found a 450r rear TCS rebuild
will a 450r rear shock fit on my 400ex without having to rig it?
will i need the 450r linkage?

I would have your 400ex rear shock revalved and resprung. The 450r rear shock is to short

It fits, but it isn't right and wont be right, despite what others might say. Follow Colby's advice.

oh trust me if i had the funds, you wouldve already had it colby.
but the 450r rear is going for real cheap. but i dont wanna buy it if it isnt going to work like it should.

The 400ex rear is 15.50 eye to eye

i never tried it but i read on here alot that the 450r rear made the quad handle like crap. if your just looking for something to get around on temporarily it might be ok. post this in the suspension section to get more input. also heres a NICE one on ebay for $10 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=370122202796&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=024

nah man the one i was looking at is a TCS dual rate stock rebuild. my rear shock is fine, just bucks a bit.
